Fat Fifty First Start Up

When I got this motor she was locked up. A bit of marvel mystery oil in the bores and a little rocking of the flywheel freed her up. There was no spark so I tore down the Magneto, cleaned it up, set points, timing and plug gaps. Above  is a youtube of the 1st startup (excess smoke from oil used to free rings)

Fat Fifty Running

During the second startup there was no cooling water coming from the exhaust so i removed the thermostat, cleaned it up and re-installed it. Above is the second startup with fuel tank connected. (excess smoke from oil used to free rings) Pops (sneezing)  from the engine is from the carb, likely partially plugged jets from sitting up so long.

Fat Fifty Water Cooling

This 3rd utube video above shows the water pump working and cooling water coming out of the exhaust. I ran a bit of carb cleaner through the fuel intake line to clean the carb jets and she ran cool. I was able to shift through the gears smoothly. I then changed the gear oil. (no more excessive smoke from oil  it was burned up during the 1st two initial runs of the engine)
